Still more job searching tips…while you wait for the offer!!!
Recently on an interview with a recruiter, I was asked why I wasn’t using an Executive Recruiting Firm? Are all agencies the same?
As previously discussed the Recruiters are working for the firms that have hired them, they represent the client or employer. Recruiters regardless if they are Temp agency or Executive Search firm have a vested interest, they usually don’t get paid if they don’t place the person. So the object is to get as many applicants as possible. Today there seem to be larger surplus of us out there. So if they make suggestions about your resume, I would take their advise since it may actually assist you in getting the position.
Here are a few Recruiting firms you may want to try:
Jones Management- Northeast
J Patrick & Associates-Northeast
Management Search-Northeast from Accounting- Sales
Execunet- Will work for you and coach you for a fee. Just a word in regards to hiring a Job Coach, be careful, if you are having financial problems this may not be your answer.
Another tip would be to check the telephone book for local Executive & Temporary Employment Agencies, call and schedule an interview or call and send resume they will contact you if there is a position that matches your skills.
Use the internet I found the following with a list of many recruiting firms you can pick the sites you want to send to based on your skills and location.
I suggest you check out these sites and sign up for their job alerts and place your resume on their sites for the recruiters to see. Keep in mind this is the internet so I would only include Name, phone # and email address, if they are interested they will contact you.

Well that’s it for now, I hope my advise is helping some of you out there, I am still actively looking, keep getting nibbles but no offers yet. I have a few things in the fire but they will have to wait until next week. I will be going away for the holiday. I will keep you all posted on my progress. I am not desperate yet, but getting there, my unemployment will end in 5 weeks so I am starting to get concerned.
One quick word, Congress is in recess, but they have asked to extend benefits, so lets wait and see if this gets passed.
Will write again next week.
Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July
Trish
